How much time to allow
When to ask, what a Rush request is, and when to expect your first proof.
The more notice you give, the better the result. Here’s how the timing works.
Rush requests
An event less than 14 working days (about three weeks) away is marked Rush automatically. The form says so under the date, before you send it. It will still be made, and the first proof is due within three working days, but there’s less room for changes.
Everything else
- A first proof normally comes about two weeks after you ask.
- For events booked well ahead, the proof is aimed at about six weeks before the event, so there’s room for changes. An early request gets a date that looks a long way off. That’s on purpose.
- Banners and large prints go to an outside printer, so allow extra time for those.
The form shows Proof by: and the date you can expect it, before you send the request.
Need it before the event?
If the piece has to be ready earlier than the event (a print run, or the Sunday it has to be on screen), put that date in When do you need it? on the form. Leave it blank and the team schedules from your event date.
